Google (GOOGL. US) announced on its blog on Wednesday that it will invest an additional $9 billion in Oklahoma over the next two years to strengthen cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. It is reported that as part of the investment, Google will build a new data center campus in Stillwater, expand its existing facilities in Pryor, and provide financial support for education and workforce development projects.
Within the framework of a $1 billion education commitment across the United States, Google announced that the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University will participate in the "Google AI for Education Accelerator" program launched last week. This plan will provide students with free vocational certificates and artificial intelligence training courses. Google also stated that it will provide funding to support a project that will help increase Oklahoma's electrical science workforce reserve by 135%.
